I have had the love for art and colors from my childhood. It is now my passion. As a child I used to sit and sketch whatever caught my eye. After finishing my studies I decided to give more thought to this passion. Using charcoal I sketched a baby elephant and took a great liking for charcoal. The texture, the shading and the intense black color gave me the freedom to work with this medium freely. I discovered a love for sketching and drawing animals by expressing the amazing lines that create their shapes and characters. Therefore, my favorite subjects to work on has been wildlife. I held my 1st exhibition in March 2023 exclusively working with charcoal and sometimes using acrylic with guidance to add colour to my paintings.
Since then, I have ventured to try new mediums and have begun a journey with watercolors. It’s been fun so far painting a series of Sri Lankan birds.
