The suite comes with firewalls and a shredder for data as well in tools to help you clean your system on a regular basis. It will update drivers automatically, includes anti-tracking features and gives you access to tech support in just one click.
The interface of the program is easy and user-friendly even though there are plenty of options and settings. Most of the functions are controlled with large buttons, switches or checkmark, which is great from a user’s perspective. The program is accessible on both Windows and Mac, and it’s free to use (ad-supported).
The antivirus does a good job of protecting your PC from malware. Its real-time protection is able to detect more than 90% of threats and it didn’t cause any false positives in my testing. It doesn’t offer the same level of protection as the top products in terms of heuristics, file scanning, and heuristics.
360 Total Security offers a variety of additional security and maintenance options which include the VPN that is only available in the premium version. Its heuristic engine detects malware by examining a program’s behavior, which is quite helpful, especially if the threat is new and does not have a signature yet. The program has a cleanup utility, as well as other tune-up utilities that can increase the performance of your PC.
